The widespread availability of CD technology now makes it feasible to assess transition needs and strengths by way of the computer.   The TPI-Computer Version includes the same 46 statements as in the print version; however, it affords users with the following features that make the assessment process more efficient: 

• Items are presented one at a time on screen – information is keyed in via computer.
• “Read Aloud” feature allows directions, items, and further information to be heard in audio format by the person completing either the student or home form.  
• Student Form and Home Form have a “Tell Me More” feature that provides students and parents/guardians with more detailed description of each item.
• School Form has a “Tell Me More” feature that provides respondents with a detailed list of sub competencies for each of the 46 items (i.e., Level 2 items from the print version).  
• Profile Form is generated automatically and can be printed in two ways.:  numerically or by strengths.    
• All student profiles can be kept in one secure location.
• Home Form is available as a PDF in both English and Spanish languages.
• A “Modified TPI Form” is provided as a PDF to use with students with more significant disabilities.
• A “Planning Notes Form” is provided as a PDF to assist school-based transition personnel to move from assessment to planning.  
• Background information about transition planning is provided as PDFs on the CD.   

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

• PC: Windows, Pentium II 200 MHz, Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Internal Soundcard, 32 mb of hard drive space, 64 mb of RAM, Apple Quicktime 6.x player (included on cd). 
• MAC:  OSX 3.9 or later, Internal soundcard, 32 mb of hard drive space, 64 mb of RAM, Apple Quicktime 6.x player (included on cd). Suggested Equipment: headphones. 
• FileMaker 7.x or higher is needed on each computer accessing a local area network (LAN).
